Abstract:
The 26 November 2003 Valencia was designated America’s Cup house. Thanks to its winds that blow the whole year and thanks to an upgrading project of the port area, star- ting in 1997, in which is has been very easy inserting some work’s planes, indispensable to the event. A 500 million euros funding has been made available to the city in order to build the necessary infrastructures, services and the racing regata field, to accommodate a spor- ting event of an international resonance. A great development of the port area has been dotained together with a good economic growing. The event has helped Valencia’s people to live the port’s area, to work for its infrastructures, to use the relax area in wich a lot of amusing activities take place. Now the big occasion of the America’s Cup in Valencia seems to have obtained the desired effects.
