Abstract:
The construction site is a temporary work place characterized by a sequence of working phases with very different tasks and activities. Environmental and organizational conditions are changeable and not always predictable, exhibiting many dangers and health risks. The high prevalence of occupational diseases and the mortality rate define the construction site as a "safety-critical work" and medical surveillance of workers is therefore required. It is desirable the use of health protocols consistent with the risk profiles per task. The authors propose a health surveillance protocol is aimed at early detection of work-related diseases is the expression of the judgment of suitability to the task. The authors propose a health surveillance protocol for the detection of early-stage work-related diseases and to assess the fitness for the job.
