The course aims to address the main oral manifestations of complex and multi-organ systemic diseases, with particular focus on autoimmune and dermatological conditions. Students will also be provided with up-to-date information on the latest diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms to be applied in patients undergoing treatment with anti-resorptive drugs, as well as those presenting with odontogenic and non-odontogenic osteolytic lesions of the jaws. The course will cover the prevention and management of oral complications related to oncological treatments. A thorough examination of the various clinical presentations of orofacial pain will be included, enabling students to develop the ability to distinguish pain of odontogenic origin from more complex neuropathic syndromes. Finally, guidance will be provided on the dental management of patients with congenital syndromes or severe systemic conditions (Special Needs Dentistry).
