Teaching activity takes place through lectures in the classroom performed with the use of supprto material (slides), the content of which will be explained and commented. Active interaction with the teacher will be stimulated and encouraged, in order to promote understanding of the topics covered. The content presented in class is made available on the Moodle page reserved for teaching.
Contents
Teaching activity concerns in particular the following topics: general concepts of anatomy and physiology of the endocrine system; main pituitary diseases: adenomas, insipidus diabetes, and anterior hypopituitarism; main thyroid diseases: thyrotoxicosis, hypothyroidism, thyroiditis, tumors; main parathyroid diseases: hyperparathyroidism and hypoparathyroidism; main adrenal glands diseases: Cushing's disease, Conn's adenoma, adrenal insufficiency, pheochromocytoma; osteoporosis; type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus; hypoglycemic syndromes; oesity and metabolic syndrome.
