Contents
Anatomy of periodontal tissues: gingiva, periodontal ligament, root cementum, and alveolar bone. Characteristics of oral biofilm formation, oral microbiology. Epidemiology of periodontal tissue diseases. Etiology and Pathogenesis of periodontal tissue diseases. Diagnosis and treatment plan in patients with periodontal disease, periodontal probing, periodontal charting, and intraoral radiographic examination. Causal therapy, surgical therapy, and supportive periodontal therapy. Systemic diseases and their relationships with periodontal disease. Implantology, Osseointegration, peri-implant mucosa, peri-implant mucositis, and peri-implantitis, diagnosis, and therapy. The Course aims to illustrate to dental hygienists the guidelines, diagnostic process, and therapeutic procedures within the realm of periodontology. The goal is to provide a rational approach based on accurate diagnosis and treatment planning, considering local aspects and systemic issues. This includes not only traditional approaches but also the integration of new technologies and resources available in periodontal diagnosis and therapy.
