Cytoplasmic organelles: smooth and rough endoplasmic reticulum, ribosomes, Golgi apparatus, lysosomes, phagocytotic vesicles, mitochondria, cytoskeleton, and centriole: structure and function.
Nucleus: morphology and composition. DNA, RNA.
Brief notes on protein synthesis.
Mitosis and meiosis.
Epithelial tissue: covering epithelium, classification, membrane specializations; glandular epithelium, exocrine and endocrine glandular epithelia, cytology of secretion.
Connective tissues: connective tissue proper, ground substance; cartilaginous tissue; bone tissue. Blood: plasma and blood cells.
