Laser ablation sampling hyphenated to the ICP-MS (inducrively coupled plasma - mass spectrometer). The instrument used the fourth harminic (266 nm) of a Nd-YAG laser to sample the surface of solid matrials and to transfer the ablated matrial to the ICP-MS for analysis.
