I samurai e gli altri «eroi dell’ultraesotico» nella fotografia della Scuola di Yokohama

After having specified the main features of the phenomenology of the image of the samurai in the photography of the Yokohama School, the article attempts an anthropological and semiotic interpretation, framing the discourse within the broader context of the so-called «ultra-exotic heroes», very distinct genre of characters that characterize the western view of Japan between 1860 and 1910. The work continues the research conducted from 2008 on the photography of the Yokohama School.
