L’armamentario primitivista

The article proposes, exploring the different meanings, the concept of «primitivist arsenal». This is the complex and interrelated set of ethnic, archaic, oriental, popular, child and psychiatric sources that constituted one of the main causes of the deep renewal of the art of Avant-gardes and, more generally, of all Western art between 1890 and 1970.
