Il giudizio di bellezza delle dee nel Dionisalessandro di Cratino (POxy 663, col. I rr. 12–19)
Conference Paper
Publication Date:
2015
abstract:
This paper focuses on the lines 12-19 of the Hypothesis to Cratinus’ Dionysalexandros (POxy 663), which summarize the so-called scene of the beauty contest between the goddesses Hera, Athena and Aphrodite; since the first publication of the papyrus in 1904, the problems concerning both text and scene were strongly debated. The paper discusses the interpretation of the text and proposes a reconstruction of the scene based on a possible parallel with Lucian’s dialogue Θεῶν κρίσις (XXXV MacLeod).
