Research indicates that the shock of the global pandemic of COVID-19 during 2020–2023 led to significant reallocations of capital across markets and sectors of economic activity. The shock generated both winners and losers even though these might be offset in the aggregate. This entry discusses the reallocation of financial capital that took place in the venture capital (VC) industry worldwide during the turbulent times of COVID-19.
