Solidarity and Crises in the European Union: a constitutional principle in the pandemic and energy crises

Book
Publication Date:
2024
abstract:
The book provides an analysis of the principle of solidarity focusing on its function as a guiding principle in addressing (the pandemic and the energy) crises and develops some reflections on cross-cutting issues concerning the financing of EU responses to crises and, more in general, on the financing of the transitions the EU is facing.
The book concludes by providing new insights into the constitutional function of the principle of solidarity within the system of the European Union as one of the vectors of flexibility of the EU as a governance system.
