Dal tardo Barocco al Rococò e oltre. Arte in San Nazario a Dino fra Sei e Ottocento

Using documentary evidence and the few works still
preserved in the presbytery, this essay reconstructs, for
the first time, the history of the church in modern and
early contemporary times.
A series of objects testifying to variations in rococo
figu­ rative and architectural culture over the course
of the 18th century are then analyzed: the polychrome
marble high altar, made in 1776 by the marble artisan
Pietro Ghirlanda; the slightly earlier scagliola ante-
pendium, from the workshop of the Solari de Verna,
a dynasty well known for this type of production; and
the statue of the Virgin of the Rosary, donated to the
church by the parish priest Giovanni Rovelli in 1949.
