Human Morphology Teaching Lab

Laboratory
The Teaching Laboratory of Human Morphology is a space dedicated to hands-on training and independent study for department students. Designed to support learning about the structure and function of tissues, organs and the skeletal system, the laboratory combines traditional resources and advanced multimedia tools to provide a comprehensive educational experience. Equipment and resources: - A collection of bones and skeletons, both authentic and plastic, for morphological analysis. - Microscopes and sets of histological slides for the identification and detailed study of human tissues and organs. - Numerous anatomy books and reference atlases available for on-site consultation. - Anatomage: a virtual dissection table for interactive 3D anatomical exploration, useful for integrating theory and practice and for dissection simulations. Teaching activities: The laboratory hosts guided exercises scheduled as part of courses, during which instructors or qualified tutors assist students in identifying anatomical structures, using the microscope, and interpreting histological and anatomical preparations. Guided sessions promote supervised practice and engagement with real materials and cases. Independent study and access: In addition to organized activities, the laboratory is available for individual study and research projects. Opening hours and free access depend on tutor availability; therefore, students are advised to check schedules and tutor shifts to ensure assistance and proper use of equipment. Purpose: The laboratory supports the acquisition of practical skills essential for studies in biological sciences, medicine and health professions, promoting integration of theoretical knowledge and practical abilities in a safe, well-equipped environment. For information on opening hours, please contact the academic support staff.
