LUPI ALESSANDRO

I got my Ph.D. in 2015 at University of Insubria (Como, Italy), under the supervision of Prof. F. Haardt, working on the dynamics of MBHs during the final stages of galaxy mergers, where two MBHs, each surrounded by a circum-nuclear disc, are supposed to merge, and the formation of MBH seeds via phases of super-critical accretion on to stellar mass BHs, by means of hydrodynamical simulations. I then moved to IAP (Paris, France), to work with Dr. M. Volonteri and Prof. J. Silk on high-redshift quasars, and in 2018 to Scuola Normale Superiore (Pisa, Italy), to work with Prof. A. Ferrara on the ISM of high-redshift galaxies. In 2020, I moved to University of Milano Bicocca (Milan, Italy) as Research Associate, to work on the formation and evolution of massive black holes, and finally, in February 2023 I got appointed assistant professor at University of Insubria. I am a theoretical/computational astrophysicist, mainly interested in the formation and evolution of massive black holes, their galaxy hosts, and the physics of the interstellar medium.
