REVELLO ROBERTO

Roberto Revello received his PhD in Philosophy of the Social Sciences and Symbolic Communication from the University of Insubria, a second-level Master’s degree in Public and Political Communication from the University of Pisa, and a degree in Philosophy from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, graduating with a final mark of 110 cum laude. He has obtained the Italian National Scientific Qualification for the position of Associate Professor in the academic recruitment fields 11/C1 Theoretical Philosophy and 11/C3 Moral Philosophy. He teaches at the University of Insubria, where he is adjunct lecturer for the course “Religious Imaginaries and Media Representations” in the Bachelor’s degree programme in Communication Sciences. He has also given lectures and seminars at several Italian universities, including the University of Udine, the University of Enna “Kore”, IULM University, the University of Perugia, and the University of Calabria, focusing in particular on religious imaginaries, media, Islamic culture, spirituality, aesthetics, publishing, and cultural processes. His research interests include the philosophy of the image, the religious imaginary, the relationship between religion and media, contemporary French philosophy, the metaphysics of the imaginal, the thought of Henry Corbin, Simone Weil, Pavel A. Florensky, and Gilbert Simondon, as well as the relationships between aesthetics, political theology, technology, and forms of representation. He is editorial director of Mimesis Edizioni. He is the author of the monographs *Uno sguardo che salva. Florenskij, Weil, Corbin* (Meltemi, 2023) and *Ciò che appare nello specchio. Docetismo e metafisica dell’immagine in Henry Corbin* (Orthotes, 2019). He has published numerous essays in journals and collective volumes, including contributions devoted to Henry Corbin, Gilbert Simondon, Simone Weil, Mikel Dufrenne, Edgar Morin, Abū Ḥāmid al-Ġazālī, the hikāyat, the relationship between monotheism and politics, new spiritualities, conspiracy theories, and the religious forms of media experience. He has edited and translated works by authors such as Henry Corbin, Gilbert Simondon, Simone Weil, Tzvetan Todorov, Jean-Loup Amselle, Mikel Dufrenne, and Raymond Ruyer. His edited volumes and translations include works published by Mimesis and Meltemi devoted to the philosophy of religion, Islamic mysticism, contemporary French philosophy, cultural anthropology, and memory. He is a member of the scientific and editorial boards of philosophical journals and book series, including “Thàumazein. Rivista di filosofia”, “S&F ScienzaeFilosofia.it”, “L’inconscio. Rivista Italiana di Filosofia e Psicoanalisi”, the Mimesis series “Filosofia/Scienza – Nuove Frontiere”, Meltemi’s “Linee”, Mimesis’s “Carte della memoria”, and “Axolotl. Studi sulle religioni”. He was deputy editor of the journal “Scenari. Rivista semestrale di filosofia contemporanea & nuovi media”. He has participated in national and international conferences on philosophy, religions, aesthetics, secularization, posthumanism, image, media, and the religious imaginary. He is a member of the Italian Society for Theoretical Philosophy, the Italian Society for Moral Philosophy, the Italian Society for the History of Religions, the Consulta Universitaria Cinema, and the European Association for the Study of Religions.
