Alberto Castelli

CURRENT ACADEMIC POSITION
2023 Associate Professor of the History of Political Ideas, University of Insubria

In 2000, I obtained a PhD in the History of Political Thought from the University of Perugia.
In June 2002, I was awarded a research fellowship for collaboration on the project Politics and culture in twentieth-century debate: the case of Nicola Chiaromonte, at the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Pavia.
In December 2002, I won a competition for the position of University Researcher in the field of History of Political Doctrines at the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Cagliari.
In January 2011, I won a transfer competition for a position as University Researcher at the University of Ferrara.
In December 2012, I obtained the National Scientific Qualification for Competition Sector 14/B1 – History of Political Doctrines and Institutions, Associate Professor level.
Since April 1, 2018, I have been an Associate Professor at the University of Ferrara.
In May 2021, I obtained the National Scientific Qualification for Competition Sector 14/B1 – History of Political Doctrines and Institutions, Full Professor level.
On June 1, 2022, I took up my position as Associate Professor at the University of Insubria.
In July 2023, I was awarded funding from the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) for the program Research Stays for University Academics and Scientists, 2023.

• Pacifism and reflections about war
• The ideological origins of European Union
• Antifascism and libertarian Socialism in the ‘30s and the ‘40s
