Overview
Dr. Andrea Carugno is a University Researcher at the University of Insubria and Consultant Dermatologist at Ospedale di Circolo Fondazione Macchi, ASST Sette Laghi, Varese. Dr. Andrea Carugno is a University Researcher at the University of Insubria and a Consultant Dermatologist at the Dermatology Unit, Ospedale di Circolo Fondazione Macchi, ASST Sette Laghi, Varese.
He obtained his MD degree and Specialization in Dermatology and Venereology at the University of Pavia, a Postgraduate Diploma in “Diagnostic and Therapeutic Management of Skin Tumors” at the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”, and a PhD in Molecular and Translational Medicine (DIMET) at the University of Milan–Bicocca.
He is involved in undergraduate teaching as Lecturer in Dermatology for the Degree Courses in Medicine and Surgery and in Dentistry at the University of Insubria.
He is author and co-author of over 120 peer-reviewed papers in international indexed journals and has participated in more than 200 national and international scientific meetings, also as invited speaker. He conducts clinical and translational research in dermatology and serves as reviewer for international scientific journals.
He is a member of several scientific societies, including SIDeMaST, IMI, EADV and ADOI.
His main clinical and research interests include inflammatory skin diseases (psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, alopecia areata, vitiligo), dermatologic oncology, and applications of artificial intelligence in dermatology.

EADV (European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology) Psoriasis Task Force
- A Task Force is a small group that brings together a specific set of skills and ideas to accomplish distinct projects of scientific, clinical or educational relevance in the speciality of dermato-venereology. All Task Forces work under the umbrella of the EADV and report to the Task Force Facilitator who guides and oversees the Task Forces, mediates with the chairs, helps to develop your strategy in line with the EADV mission, reviews outcomes, and prepares the annual report on performed activities.
