Description

Paolo Massazza received a Laurea degree in Computer Science in 1985 from Università degli Studi di Milano (Italy). In 1990 he got a Ph. D. in Computer Science from the same university.
From July 1990 to September 2001 he has been Research Associate at the Faculty of Science of the "Università degli Studi di Milano", Department of "Scienze dell'Informazione", Italy. Since October 2001 he is Associate Professor at the "Università degli Studi dell'Insubria", Department of "Scienze Teoriche e Applicate", Varese Italy.

His research is in the area of formal languages, symbolic manipulation and algorithms. More specifically, he has studied the following subjects: properties of languages defined by systems of equations, algorithms for symbolic manipulation of formal series, efficient algorithms for exhaustive and random generation of combinatorial objects.
His results have been published in important international journals and presented to international conferences.
He has been responsible for local research projects and has participated to several national research projects. He has been reviewer for important international journals and conferences.
He has teached undergraduate corses on Algorithms and data structures, Formal languages and automata, C and C++ Programming. He has directed plenty of Laurea dissertations.
