Overview
Giorgio Maria Zamperetti is Full Professor of Business Law at the University of Insubria. His main research interests include corporate governance, listed companies, investor protection, and the relationship between Business Law and the Humanities.
Description
Giorgio Maria Zamperetti is Full Professor of Business Law at the Department of Law, Economics and Cultures of the University of Insubria (Italy). He is the author of two monographs and approximately forty scholarly publications, and has edited several collective volumes. He has organised and spoken at numerous academic conferences and scientific events.
A qualified lawyer since 1991 and admitted to practice before the Italian Supreme Court and other higher courts, since 2009 he has served as an expert appointed by the Bank of Italy in extraordinary administration and resolution procedures involving distressed banking institutions.
From 2018 to 2024 he served as the Rector’s Delegate for Internationalisation at the University of Insubria. Since 2025 he has also been Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Belgium in Milan, with jurisdiction over the Lombardy Region.
He has held visiting and teaching appointments at several foreign universities and has extensive experience in international academic cooperation.
At the University of Insubria, he has continuously taught the Advanced Business Law course since the academic year 1999–2000. Since 2009–2010 he has also taught Law and Humanities. He has additionally taught Information Technology Law, Information Law, and courses within postgraduate programmes on ethics, corporate social responsibility, and public procurement.
His main research interests in Business Law concern corporate governance, investor protection, and the regulation of financial markets.
He is a member of the Italian Society of Law and Literature and of the Association “Orizzonti del Diritto Commerciale”.
