Member of the board of the Swiss Statistical Society (from 2020) and the Swiss Federal Statistical Office (2020-23).

Winner of the Italian national prize for science popularization (STEM area) and of the 6th edition of the Amerigo Quattro Libertà Prize with the book "La pandemia dei dati. Ecco il vaccino' (Mondadori, 2020, with A. Massarenti).
Leader of the USI local node for the Swiss Reproducibility Network, SwissRN, from 2020.
Member of the Scientific and Strategic Board of the AlmaLaurea Consortium, 2020-24.
Member of the Advisory board of CoSInES (COmputational Statistical INference for Engineering and Security) and of Bayes4health (New Approaches to Bayesian Data Science: Tackling Challenges from the Health Sciences), four-year projects funded by EPSRC (£3m each), from 2019.

Teaching: Master and PhD courses at the USI and at U. of Insubria.

Research interests: Bayesian modeling with application to life sciences. Computational statistics, in particular Markov chain Monte Carlo methods and adaptive algorithms. The focus is in the development of new algorithms and in the comparison of existing algorithms in terms of their efficiency.

She has attended numerous international conferences as invited speaker and session organizer. She is member of many research projects both at national and international level.

Has acted as Editor and Co-Editor of top scientific international journals (such as Bayesian Analysis and Statistica Sinica).
