FERRARI FRANCESCA

Francesca Ferrari is Professor of Civil Procedure Law at the Department of Economics of the University of Insubria and Director of the University’s Teaching and Learning Centre. She is also a Senior Scholar at the IP Policy Institute of the University of Akron School of Law. She has conducted research as a Visiting Scholar at Harvard Law School and Maastricht University. She is the author of more than one hundred scholarly publications in the fields of civil procedure and intellectual property law, including four books and numerous contributions published in leading national and international law journals. From June 2023 to June 2025, she served as Intellectual Property and Consumer Protection Attaché at the Permanent Representation of Italy to the European Union. Alongside her academic career, she has practiced law and collaborated with leading law firms. Her research and professional activities focus primarily on civil procedure and intellectual property law, with particular emphasis on transnational patent and trademark litigation, copyright law, emerging technologies, and artificial intelligence. She is a member of several national and international scholarly associations, serves on the Advisory Board of the European Civil Justice Centre, and sits on the editorial boards of various prestigious legal journals. She regularly participates as a speaker at national and international conferences on issues relating to civil procedure, intellectual property, and technological innovation.
