TOZZI MATTEO

Prof. Matteo Tozzi is Full Professor of Vascular Surgery at the University of Insubria and Director of the Vascular Surgery Unit at ASST Sette Laghi University Hospital, Varese, Italy. He graduated summa cum laude in Medicine from Sapienza University of Rome in 2001 and completed his specialization in Vascular Surgery with honors at the University of Insubria in 2006.

Since 2007, he has been practicing at the University Hospital of Varese, performing more than 3,500 open and endovascular procedures involving aortic, carotid, peripheral arterial disease, hemodialysis vascular access, and kidney transplantation.

His research interests include aortic aneurysmal and dissecting disease, vascular access for hemodialysis, organ transplantation, and innovative technologies in vascular surgery. He has served as Principal Investigator and coordinator of several national and international multicenter studies and registries. He has authored more than 170 peer-reviewed scientific publications, with an h-index of 27 and over 2,300 citations.

Prof. Tozzi has held several academic leadership positions, including Director of the Vascular Surgery Residency Program, Coordinator of the Medical Degree Program, Vice-Dean of the Medical School, and Member of the Academic Senate of the University of Insubria.
