Overview

I am a Researcher in Physiology at the University of Insubria and my research focuses on lymphatic physiology, with particular emphasis on the thoracic district. Specifically, my work investigates the mechanisms regulating the spontaneous contractility of lymphatic vessels in response to changes in the interstitial microenvironment, in concert with extrinsic mechanisms and the role of intraluminal valves in modulating lymph flow. My research combines functional and molecular approaches to advance the understanding of lymphatic function. I am involved in teaching activities within undergraduate programs at the School of Medicine, where I teach Human Physiology in degree courses in Nursing, Midwifery, Dental Hygiene, Biomedical Laboratory Techniques, Imaging and Radiotherapy Techniques, Cardiocirculatory and Cardiovascular Perfusion Techniques, and Professional Education. I am a member of the Italian Physiological Society. I contribute to public engagement and science outreach activities promoted by the University, targeting students and the general public, with the aim of fostering scientific culture.
