The research activity is developed in the areas:
- neurogastroenterology, motility and functional gastrointestinal disorders (Head of the European research group ESPGHAN);
- gastroesophageal reflux disease and esophageal pH-impedancemetry: national training center, participation in national and international research and guidelines / consensus;
- nutrition, food allergy, celiac disease, probiotics;
- pediatric pulmonology (asthma, upper and lower airways and breathing control disorders);
- sleep disturbances in the child (obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, obstructive hyperventilation, Upper Airways Resistance Syndrome, snoring, central hypoventilation in sleep - CCHS)
- Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), Sudden Unespected Infant Death (SUID);
- Apparent Life Threatening Events (ALTE) and Brief Resolved Unespected Events (BRUE);
- respiratory diseases in the child and environmental risk factors.
