The Center aims to promote the implementation of research and service programs as well as the scientific and cultural study of the various issues relating to pharmacotoxicological disciplines in the medical field, including:
a. Clinical pharmacokinetics and drug monitoring;
b. Basic and applied experimental and clinical pharmacology;
c. Pharmacotherapeutic and pharmacotoxicological consultancy;
d. Pharmacogenetic research and consultancy;
e. Preparation, control, verification of clinical drug trial protocols;
f. Specialized training in medical pharmacology and toxicology;
g. Information, documentation and health education in the pharmacological field;
h. Preparation of guidelines and therapeutic protocols;
i. Drafting and updating of hospital handbooks and forms;
j. Preparation and management of integrated pharmacovigilance systems;
k. Pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacoeconomics evaluations.
The Center also pursues the aim of training experts and transmitting and exchanging information on the above-mentioned issues between the operational units of the sector operating in other departments or research institutions or laboratories of industrial companies.
