The Center aims to: a. Promote applied research based on extensive clinical experience in the following thematic areas: - Mitral, aortic, tricuspid and pulmonary valve surgery - Coronary surgery - Extracorporeal circulation and cardioplegic techniques - Mechanical circulation supports (counter-pulsator, ECMO, VAD) - Surgery of the ascending aorta and aortic arch b. Promote research and the definition of preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic protocols in all medical and surgical thematic areas related to cardiac surgery. c. Contribute to the training of researchers and teachers of the disciplines included in cardiac surgery also through the institution of research awards or scholarships. d. Spreading the culture of innovation also by offering higher education activities (masters and advanced courses) e. Promote cultural and health transfer initiatives to the reference area, developing relationships with other research institutions in Italy and abroad, and setting up projects at local, national and international level f. Supporting companies and public administrations in innovation processes, through tutoring activities g. Stimulate the planning of initiatives and encourage their implementation, also in collaboration with public and private bodies with a view to the partnership between operators, with particular reference to operators in the Insubria h. Encourage the comparison, dissemination and dissemination of knowledge through communications, conferences, courses, publishing and advertising initiatives and any other training and information program useful for the pursuit of its purposes.
