Gynecologic Oncology and Minimally Invasive Surgery

Group
The scientific activity of the group is focused on clinical and translational research in the field of gynecology, with particular emphasis on gynecologic oncology and minimally invasive surgery. Ongoing projects are primarily aimed at investigating surgical morbidity, with the goal of improving treatment personalization through the integration of clinical, surgical, and molecular data. The main research lines are developed through observational and prospective studies aimed at evaluating surgical and oncologic outcomes as well as quality of care, and include: • minimally invasive surgical treatment of ovarian cancer; • reduction of surgical morbidity in endometrial cancer; • use of artificial intelligence in the selection of patients with advanced ovarian cancer; • implementation of molecular analyses in selected subgroups of patients affected by endometrial cancer; • reduction of surgical morbidity at the national level in hysterectomy for benign disease. The research group The research group is composed of academic researchers and PhD students with solid experience in clinical and translational research, actively involved in national and international multicenter projects, many of which are funded. Particular emphasis is placed on the development and application of artificial intelligence models and precision medicine approaches. In recent years, the scientific activity of the group has resulted in numerous publications in internationally recognized, high-impact journals in the fields of gynecology and oncology, often within the context of multicenter studies with a scientific coordination role.
