Abstract:
“Mens sana in corpore sano”—already in Ancient
Roman times, mental and social well-being were directly linked to physical well-being. In modern
times, it has been scientifically proven that individuals active in sports report high levels of self-esteem
and low levels of anxiety, which improve their academic performance. Certainly, regular sports activity, practiced in a context of positive competition,
can develop not only technical-specific skills but
also transversal skills applicable to everyday life.
Sports institutions can act as facilitators and multipliers of the quality of STEAM learning, promoting
autonomy and problem-solving through training
and sports competition. However, for this to happen, it is essential to educate coaches about the
pedagogical and educational importance of their
leadership. Data from research on coaches' leadership in the world of Rugby will be presented.
