Abstract:
Exposure to engineered nanomaterials and nanoparticles (particles with diameter belo w 100 nm) is deemed to be a potential risk affecting human health for occupationally exposed workers., an increasing number ofstudies shows that the potential health risk derivingfrom exposure to airborne nano-aerosols is not adequately addressed by conventional exposure assessment techniques and strategies. In arder to develop appropriate technical standards, advances are needed in identifying nano-aerosol properties that are criticaI to occupational health. The implementation of tools and strategies capable of measuring exposure against these attributes, will allow the accuracy in exposure assessment to be increased.
