The course provides basic applied physiology concepts concerning:

body composition

hydration and supplementation

frailty and sarcopenia

The module is introductory and theoretical.

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the course, students will be able to:

Describe the main body composition compartments.

Recognize main body composition assessment methods.

Explain physiological effects of dehydration.

Distinguish main classes of sport supplements.

Define frailty and sarcopenia.
