Teaching Methods

The course has been structured to present students with both the “traditional” syllabus—encompassing the essential theoretical and regulatory notions—and concrete issues, with references to real-life cases from the recent past as well as to ongoing developments. Students are placed in a position to follow the course content while simultaneously engaging in discussion and dialogue with professionals in the field, focusing particular attention on the rules applicable in practice and their effects on the markets and the various stakeholders involved. Accordingly, the teaching is organised into lectures supported by slides and relevant legal sources, which serve as essential starting points for analysis. Throughout the lectures, students will be encouraged to actively participate, pose questions, and undertake individual study, including in relation to current and concrete cases that concern the legal framework and principles under examination. The course will be further enriched by the participation of guest speakers, allowing students to apply the relevant legal provisions to actual cases and to assess the concrete outcomes of the applicable rules. The e-learning platform constitutes a vital space for interaction between lecturer and students, not only for accessing detailed course information, but also as a means of exploring issues that may emerge in response to evolving economic and social events during the semester, thus enabling the application of theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios. It is permissible to deliver two-thirds of the coursework remotely.
