Syllabus

Course Objectives

The course provides some notions of human anatomy necessary for the biologist interested in the biomedical aspect. The course aims to introduce the structural organization of the human body and visceral organs, with its main applications of anatomical-clinical character and the mechanisms through which such organization takes place. Learning outcomes: at the end of the course the student will need to know use the acquired knowledge for the purposes of application / professional projection

Course Prerequisites

To understand the course, basic knowledge of cytology and histology are essential

Teaching Methods

The teaching activity includes lectures carried out with the help of slides

Assessment Methods

Exams are foreseen in the number planned by the Degree Course. Verification of learning will be carried out through an oral interview aimed at the description of a device (chosen by the examining commission) among those presented in class. The student will have to demonstrate to know the human anatomy and to be able to discuss the interconnections with the knowledge of physiology. The accuracy and completeness of the information presented in response to the questions asked will account for 80% of the final evaluation, expressed out of thirty. The test is considered passed with a score of at least 18/30.

Anatomical nomenclature (definition of "anatomical position", regions and planes of symmetry of the human body, definition of full organ and hollow organ), Integumentary system (skin and subcutaneous tissue), Skeletal system (bones of the trunk, head, upper limbs and lower limbs), Joints (joints of the trunk, head, upper limbs and lower limbs), Muscular system (muscles of the back, head, neck, chest, abdomen, upper limbs and limbs lower), Circulatory system and lymphatic system (heart, pericardium, pulmonary artery, aorta, veins, vessel structure, lymphatic vessels, bone marrow, spleen, lymph nodes, thymus), respiratory system (nose, larynx, trachea, bronchi, lungs), digestive system (oral cavity, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, attached glands - salivary glands, liver, gallbladder, pancreas ), Urinary system (kidneys, kidney excretory system, urinary bladder, female urethra), Male genital system (testes, spermatic tract, male urethra, attached glands - prostate and bulb-urethral, penis), Female genital system (ovaries, tubes uterine, uterus, vagina, vulva), Perineum (pelvic diaphragm, urogenital trigone), Peritoneum (omental bursa, greater omentum), Endocrine system (thyroid gland, parathyroid, adrenal, paragangli, pituitary, epiphysis), Central nervous system (spinal cord, brain, meninges), Peripheral nervous system (spinal nerves, brain nerves, sympathetic), Sensory systems and organs (vision, hearing and balance systems)
