The main aim of the lessons is to provide the necessary knowledge about the more frequent diseases concerning the nervous system, including valutation, symptoms and evolution. We will define the rehabilitations goals and modalities also from a practical point of view.
Course Prerequisites
Kinesiology of normal movement and of the gait, Anatomy and physiology of the nervous system, basic knowledge of the main nervous system pathologies.
Teaching Methods
The course is developped in frontal lessons and practical activity training. Frontal lessons use Powerpoint Presentations and clinical cases videos to enhance observational and evaluating capacities of the neurologicl patient. The practical activity training offers to the student the opportunity to observe, evaluate clinical cases presented on video support, to establish goals and treatment modalities based on the application of clinical reasoning in neurological field. Finally, students will have practice about the elaboration of treatment programs and they will develop the capacity to modulate and dose the exercices proposed.
Assessment Methods
The examination assesses the level of knowledge of neurological disorders, their course and symptoms and the ability to formulate short- and long-term treatment goals and programme. The one-hour written examination consists of 10 ticked questions, an open question and a clinical case.
