Answer independently nursing needs and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team in the management of priority health problems/ nursing diagnoses, in all age groups, in different social, family and multicultural contexts. Plan nursing care according to objectives/outcomes, according to the principles of evidence based practice and ethics, using critical thinking, adapting it to quality standards and clinical risk. Implement preventive, curative, rehabilitative and palliative care interventions, using relational, educational and technical strategies and evaluate the results obtained. The student will apply the phases of the nursing care process in the clinical setting using the disciplinary tool. The student will Illustrate each associations between the data collected and the identified needs/ nursing diagnoses. Plans interventions by applying critical thinking.
Course Prerequisites
Student’s attendance at both Clinical Nursing Sciences and Laboratory
Teaching Methods
According to EU legislation together with teaching rules and regulations, students must perform a training period in hospital wards and territorial health districts. Laboratory practice exercises and individual or small group tutorial activities to promote nursing knowledge and skill acquisition.
Assessment Methods
The exam includes an oral test which consists of the discussion of a nursing plan, developed by the student autonomously during internship, and assessed according to the common criteria of the Course sections

MED/45 GENERAL CLINICAL AND PEDIATRIC NURSING SCIENCES – 18 CFU Collects and analyzes patient’s data identifying his nursing needs/diagnosis Provides nursing care making reference to evidence based practice Carries out arranged nursing intervention, respecting health principles of hygiene prevention and infections control Employs personal protection equipment and applies ergonomic principles when mobilizing patients Justifies clinical decisions taken scientifically. Plans nursing activity according to care priorities. Takes advantage of both judgment and self-evaluation to improve his/her attitude Adjusts his/her communication in accordance with patient’s characteristics and health needs Carries on professional relationships with health and non-health interlocutors Respects the obligation of professional secrecy and the personal data protection code.
