Aspetti e forme della rappresentazione di Solone nella commedia greca

The paper offers an overview of the presence of Solon in extant comic texts, analyzing both comedies preserved in their entirety and fragments. After some gen- eral considerations on Solon’s Nachleben, the texts are divided in two groups, certain and uncertain references, and in four possible categories (Solon as dramatis persona and persona loquens; allusion or quotations of verses; use of Solonian glosses or expres- sions; hints to the laws of Solon, quotations of them, Solon as legislator par excellence); the commentary on the texts focuses on both details and general interpretations and aims to underline how comedy helped to build Solon’s personality, bringing on the Athenian stage his individual aspects and his activity as a legislator.
