2007: B.Sc. in Chemistry; 2009: M.Sc. in Advanced Chemical Methodologies; 2010–2012: Ph.D. student in Chemical Science (University of Turin, Italy); 2011: Visiting scientist at the Quantum Chemistry Department of the Mendeleev Russian University of Chemical Technology (Moscow, Russia); 2013–2017: Postdoctoral researcher at the University of Insubria and To.Sca.Lab (Como, Italy); 2016: Visiting scientist at Columbia University (New York, USA); 2017–2018: Marie Skłodowska-Curie co-funded fellow at Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies (AIAS), Aarhus University (Denmark), with a research project titled From the atomic structure to the nanocrystal morphology: a novel Unified X-ray Scattering approach for the characterization of nanomaterials. 2018–2022: Assistant Professor (tenured since 2019) at the University of Insubria. 2022–present: Associate Professor (SSD CHIM/03) at the Department of Science and High Technology, University of Insubria (Como, Italy). Author of about 65 original publications in peer-reviewed journals; H-index = 20; total citations = 2417 (source: Scopus, January 2026). Her current scientific interests focus on the development and integration of characterization tools for nanoscale materials based on Total Scattering techniques (particularly in reciprocal space, using the Debye Scattering Equation approach), and on their structural, microstructural, and functional properties, with particular emphasis on crystal defectiveness. She has been involved in synchrotron Total Scattering experiments within 28 large-scale facility sessions (some as co-proposer or main proposer) since 2013. She co-organized four international scientific workshops: To.Sca.Lake (2015), To.Sca.Lake 2.0 (2017), and To.Sca.Lake 3.0 (2019, Total Scattering for Nanotechnology on Lake Como) in Como (Italy), and New Science Opportunities with Hard XFEL Radiation Workshop (2023) at the European XFEL (Hamburg, Germany). She also organized and chaired the workshop NANOMAT@AU: Forefront Methodologies and Advances in Nanomaterials Characterization (2018) at Aarhus University (Denmark). Awards include the NEST Prize for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (2017) and the Nardelli Prize (2019, Italian Crystallographic Association). From 2022 to 2025, she has served as a member—and since 2024, chair—of the Beamtime Allocation Panel C02 for the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF, Grenoble, France). Since 2022, she has been a member of the European Powder Diffraction Conference (EPDIC) Committee. She has delivered about 20 invited talks and lectures since 2016, including at the 2024 Gordon Research Conference on Colloidal Semiconductor Nanocrystals (Les Diablerets, Switzerland) and at the European Powder Diffraction Conferences (2024, 2022, 2016), as well as more than 15 tutorial sessions on the Debussy program suite at international summer schools. She has been Principal Investigator on about 10 projects funded through national and international schemes.
