TORRETTA VINCENZO

Full Professor, from 2020, of “Relevant Accident and Risk Assessment” and “Environmental Impact Assessments” at MSc. Course of Engineering for Safety and Environment and "Advanced Environmental Engineering" in the Master of Environmental and Workplace Sustainability Engineering, University of Insubria.
He has been President of Engineering MSc. Course and Master (2012-24), and is member of the doctoral committee on Chemical and Environmental Sciences. Since 2019 he is the delegate of the director for the departmental strategic plan, including monitoring and updating, he has been member of the committee for the distribution of the University funds for research (2015-24), and president of the Infrastructural Development Commission of the Insubria University of Varese (2021-2024). He is Department Deputy Director of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Sciences since January 2022.
He has positions as Editor for several international journals in the environmental engineering sector and has organized several national and international conferences.
Author of several papers published on environmental and safety engineering technical journals, with an overall Impact Factor of about 670 (referring to the year 2024) and Hindex equal to 40 (Scopus, 2024). More than 360 publications are available on the Cineca-MIUR website, of which more than 235 are reported on the Scopus database.
He is also author of books titled “Safety and Relevant Accident Risk Assessment” (2006), “Studies and Environmental Impact Assessment” (2010), "Environmental Engineering” (2015), "Environmental Impact Assessment” (2016), “Studies and Environmental Impact Assessment” (2022) and “Introduction to relevant accident safety” (2023).

The research activity regards: energy recovery from biomass and waste, treatment of waste gas, environmental modeling and safety modeling, new technologies for treating wastewater, reuse of materials from solid waste, management and treatment of solid waste.
