CASSANI DANIELE

Obtained in 2005 the PhD in Mathematics at University of Milano under the guidance of B. Ruf. Then postdoc at Pacific Institute for Mathematical Sciences under the supervision of I. Ekeland e N. Ghoussoub and lecturer at the University of British Columbia (Vancouver). Visiting professor at UFPB (Brasile), back in Milano in 2007 as lecturer at Politecnico di Milano, continued as postdoc fellow at UNIMI. His research interests focus on Nonlinear Analysis, PDE and systems of PDE, Calculus of Variations, Functional Inequalities, Applications to MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical-Systems), Maximum Principle. Referee of more then 20 international journals and editor of ANONA - De Gruyter and MIJM - Springer. He has been invited in prestigious institutions among which: Univ. Autonoma de Madrid, Univ. Basel, BIRS - Banff, Univ. of British Columbia, Chongqing Jiaotong Univ., Fudan Univ. - Shanghai, Univ. de Lisboa, Univ. of Nevada, New York Univ., Osaka Univ., Brasilia, PUC Rio de Janeiro, Zhejiang Normal Univ. Obtained in 2012 a permanent position as Senior Researcher at the Department of Science and High Technology of the University of Insubria, in 2017 as Associate Professor and since 2023 Full Professor of Mathematical Analysis. Cofounder in 2014 and then appointed in 2016 President of RISM - Riemann International School of Mathematics, whose Scientific Board is composed by: E. Bombieri, S.-Y. A. Chang, R. Donagi, I.Ekeland, M.Hairer, A. Quarteroni, T. Tao. He is effective member of the PhD school in Computer Science and Computational Mathematics, advising numerous young researchers and postdocs. Member of the Riemann Prize committee. Beyond the research activity he is organizer of international conferences and schools, and appointed as member of several university governance committee as well as national evaluation committees and member of the board of directors of private and public institutions. Since 2023 CEO of the Foundation University of Insubria.
