The research interest of the group is focused on the study of cellular and molecular mechanisms of tumor immunology and angiogenesis, and on the phenotypic and functional alterations of immune cells in the tumor microenvironment, in particular natural killer cells, monocytes and macrophages.
And also studies on the enhancement of the cytotoxic response of natural killer cells in vitro against various types of tumors in relation to the role of vitamin D.
Furthermore, the group also carries out research in the field of characterizing innate immune responses in autoimmune thyroid diseases (Graves' hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism or Hashimoto's).
