The research group deals with the characterization of geological risks, using a multidisciplinary approach. We use techniques and methods pertaining to various disciplines, including Quaternary geology, active tectonics and paleoseismology, structural geology, geological engineering, hydrogeology and geology in an urban environment. A fundamental part of our research is based on the direct acquisition of field data (for example, the detection of environmental effects following earthquakes), to be combined with indirect methods of investigation, laboratory analysis and data acquired by satellite.
