Headaches in developmental age (pediatric headaches)
Neurodevelopmental disorders, with a particular focus on learning disorders and their early identification in the first years of schooling. Since 2017, through the IndiPote(dn)S project, developed in collaboration with the Provincial School Offices of Varese and Como, a shared protocol has been established to facilitate early identification and intervention for children, in the final year of preschool and the first two years of primary school, who show early signs of potential difficulties. This initiative has evolved into the INDACO project (Regional Government Resolution No. 1370 of November 20, 2023, Lombardy Region), which extended the protocol at the regional level, with coordination delegated to our group. Within the European project Essence (Horizon 2020), in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano and the University of Milan, a digital platform was developed to support early screening and intervention activities. As part of the PRIN project “e-School 2.0” (2023–2025), the efficacy of paper-and-pencil and digital interventions on graphomotor fluency in the first year of primary school was evaluated. The new research lines (2025–2027) aim to validate digital tools for identification and intervention, including serious games and action video games for training attentional functions, in collaboration with the De.Co.Ne Lab of the University of Padua, as well as to develop solutions for telemedicine and telerehabilitation. Finally, a project has started to monitor neurodevelopment during the first 1,000 days of life, with a specific focus on autism, using the teleNIDA tool (home-context video recordings) at 18–24 months of age.
