Course Objectives

Acquire fundamental theoretical knowledge on:
1) Nature and interaction of ionizing radiation
2) Biological effects
3) Principles of radiation protection
4) Dosimetric systems
5) international regulatory framework
6) technical interpretation of the recommendations

Course Prerequisites

1) Basic general physics
2) Basic mathematics (logarithms, exponentials)
3) Introductory cell biology

Teaching Methods

1) Presentation of transparencies prepared with Keynote transformed into PDF to be made available.

2) Use of the blackboard for further information or to answer questions.

3) Carrying out exercises.

Assessment Methods

There is no verification of learning through a written or oral exam. Compulsory attendance of the course is required. This will be verified by signing at the beginning of the lessons or, alternatively, by participating in the activities set up on the course's e-learning platform.
