Course Objectives

At the end of the Planning and Control course, the student will be able to know and use the accounting and extra-accounting tools inherent in the economic measurement processes learned in the Financial Statements courses, and to apply the logic of management control. In the first part, the student will learn the methodologies for calculating production costs and the methods of operation of analytical accounting. In the second part, the student will analyze the tools of planning and management control. The latter aspects will be the subject of subsequent in-depth studies in the three-year degree (optional course Management Control) and in the specialist degree (Performance Measurement Systems). The primary educational objective is to promote, through theoretical framework lessons, discussions of small cases and practical exercises, the learning of the methodologies and logics of design and operation of cost measurement systems and economic-financial planning to support business management processes.
