Antonio Angelucci is Associate Professor of Law and Religion (Disciplinary Sector GIUR-07/A) at the Department of Law, Economics and Cultures (DiDEC) of the University of Insubria, Como-Varese, and in March 2025 he obtained the Italian National Scientific Qualification as Full Professor in the field 12/C2 (Ecclesiastical and Canon Law). Since 2026 he has been Director of the Inter-University Research Centre "International Forum Democracy and Religions" (FIDR) and of the scientific book series "Studi sul diritto del fenomeno religioso"; he also sits on the scientific committee of the legal book series «Percorsi di Coscienza e Libertà». Since 2025 he has directed the Master's Programme for Intercultural Community Educators at Insubria and has been a member of the University Quality Presidium.
At Insubria he teaches Comparative Law of Religions, Religions and Rights in a Multicultural Society, Religious Rights and Community and Family Mediation, Religious Tourism and Religion, Human Rights and the UN Agenda 2030. He is a member of the Doctoral College of Law and Human Sciences at Insubria and of the Doctoral College of National Interest in Peace Studies at Sapienza University of Rome. He is Adjunct Professor of Islamic, Hindu and Buddhist Law at the Faculty of Theology of Lugano (USI) and has been Visiting Professor at the Universities of Alcalá and Coimbra.
He served on the Working Group on the IHRA definition of anti-Semitism at the Italian Presidency of the Council of Ministers, contributing to the National Strategy for Combating Antisemitism (2022). He collaborates with the Abu Dhabi think tank TRENDS Research and Advisory and coordinates research networks across Europe, the Mediterranean and the Gulf.
