The laboratory includes a Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) designed for the intensive farming of marine fish species under highly standardized environmental conditions. The system enables continuous water reuse through integrated mechanical and biological filtration processes, UV disinfection, and oxygenation, ensuring stable physico-chemical parameters, reduced water consumption, and limited environmental impact.
Within this framework, research activities are conducted on fish in intensive aquaculture, including studies on nutritional strategies, nutrigenomics, and the intestinal, skin, and water microbiota, aimed at promoting sustainable agro-food production and animal welfare.
